As a Bin Tycoon member, one of the coolest things you can do is run your very own magazine business on Bin Weevils! We'll be sharing top tips from our team in our ultimate Magazine Making guide!
To begin, you will need to come up with a catchy, snappy name that will attract the attention of other players! Some good examples would be "The Weevil Gossip", "Bin Writers" or "Ultimate Weevil News" - try and keep the name as short as possible. Make sure that your magazine name is relatable and unique to the content that you are providing.
To make sure that everyone on Bin Weevils stays happy, the Weevil team have set out some rules to keep in mind whilst you are writing your magazine...
- Do not use any bad language.
- Don't give out your personal information (such as real name, address, or phone number)
- Don't share any links to 3rd Party websites.
- Don't share secret codes for Mulch, Dosh, XP or Nest items.
If your magazine is found to break any of these rules, the Weevil team may edit your magazine to remove parts of the offending content without warning, or not publish the magazine altogether.
Here are our top tips to help you write an awesome magazine!
- Select a theme for your magazine. Your magazine could be about the latest bin gossip, interviews with famous weevils or tips for making the best nest.
- Follow the trends! If it is Christmas, how about creating a special Christmas edition. If the trends are, for example, fidget spinners, write make a special edition of your magazine all about it!
- Use pictures. If your magazine is about bin gossip, add pictures of you investigating the mystery! You can take pictures using the Tycoon exclusive camera next to the chat box.
- Never submit an empty magazine. If you cannot think of something to write about, add a picture or a puzzle (such as decode the message, etc) - anything is better than an empty magazine!
- Interview famous weevils! People love getting to know the bin celebrities, so if you do bump into a famous weevil (such as Scribbles), interview them and take a picture with them for the next issue of your magazine!
- Choose a good layout. Make sure that the way you place your content makes logical sense - don't just slap your writing and images anywhere.
- Add stickers to make your magazine more fun and personal to read!
- Write a magazine every week (you can only publish a magazine once a week) - keep to a schedule! If you keep to schedule, your readers will know when to return to read your magazine.
- Promote your magazine! Why not visit Flums Fountain and ask other players to read your magazine! The more views and ratings your magazine gets, the more Mulch you will earn.
- Most importantly, stay creative - this will help you stand out from the crowd!
Additionally, you can head over to the Shopping Mall or Riggs Movie Multiplex and visit the magazine stand, which features a collection of all the recent magazines created by other weevils.
